I just bought a home with a yard. What are the best (most pretty) perennials to plant. They come back yearly correct? I am new to this. Thank you.

Peony, Irises, Hosta,Lily, Roses etc..Just to name a few.You have
to find out what conditions each one needs to grow such lighting,
watering etc.Go to a nursery and they will give you good tips on how
to do this. That way you can see the flowers and make a better de-
cision on how it will look and most of all will you like them. You
can also go online once you decide what flowers you want.Just
    type in the name.Good luck.

What type of sun exposure to you get? Also, what hardiness zone are you in?

I live in zone four – upper midwest, and I try to go with native perennials that already do well in my climate like purple coneflower, columbine, black eyed-susan, tickseed, phlox, shasta daisies.

I would research which flowers will do well in your hardiness zone and which ones are native to your part of the country.
