Why I believe that … Why I believe that is….Allison Moyet singin’ along in there with Mr. Brodie. She was with Yaz! Would anyone care to guess who her keyboard player was and what band he joined and I think is still there to this day? Someone…anyone?
That’s because the … That’s because the US music industry would rather promote e music like Brittney Spears and 50 Cent, than some of the better European or Anglo music that is available. The whole music scene in Manchester from the early 90′s went by virtually unnoticed in the States. I was lucky enough to be living in England at that time and enjoyed it.
it was propably a … it was propably a bad mistake not releasing this as a single. but when that’s said i wouldn’t agree that ian broudie’s music has aged well.love ‘cloudcuckooland’ and the ‘sense’ album tho’. better production(that tight 80s production)but on jollification and onwards his music became too plastic.
Ahhhhhh stop mate, … Ahhhhhh stop mate, I was a couple of years older than you were I got my hands of that album, could listen to it non-stop, a classic, and has defo aged very very well…
I dont know.. … I dont know..Jollifaction was a cracking album…one of very few albums I can listen to all the way through by any band without the need to skip a track…current fav is Change..
A hidden gem of a … A hidden gem of a song from the 90s. God knows why this wasnt released a single. It was the best song from Lightning Seed’s 1994 album Jollification. Great duet alongwith Alison Moyet.
great track, I knew … great track, I knew nothing about…and yes Ms Alison Moyet on guest vocals, what bliss…I love the way stuff like this gets on YouTube….brilliant!
Excellent – I do … Excellent – I do not usually comment, but this brings back so many memories; and I find the video engaging too. Interesting. I award this five stars.
Grrrr…there seems … Grrrr…there seems to be a prejudice in North America to really boppy, poppy, hooky British music. I was very into various British groups in the early 90s and was surprised the L. Seeds were not bigger here. Ah, well, it keeps them fresh for those of us who love(d) them. Good to see I’m not alone. Thanks for the post; the video is great – very touching.
