What kind of soil is best for planting olive tree seeds?

I have an olive tree and have removed some olives for their seeds so I can plant more olive trees. What is the best soil? Sandy, topsoil, loam or potting soil?

I would say a sandy loam would be best. They grow well in very nutrient poor soils but you might want the loam for the extra nutrients during germination. The sand is a must as olives have to have good drainage. I’m in SoCal and olive trees are everywhere here. I see volunteer seedlings growing around the parent trees all the time. The soil is generaly poor and olives are grown because they tolerate the conditions and don’t need much water.

when is the best time to harvest sunflower seeds?

well drained soil. If you plant the seeds and they do grow into a tree the tree won’t set fruit for a few years. Doesn’t matter as the olive tree itself has beautiful leaves.
