What are the best type of tomatoes to grow in a pot?
Posted on Aug 13, 2009 under Best Tomatoes | 2 CommentsI live in the kansas city area and want to find something that will give me the best overall yield. thanks!
Any tomato can be grown in a pot however you would have the best luck.. and get the nicest and best yield with a patio tomato plant. Also I’m not sure which you were interested in (a patio is a full sized fruit) but grape and especially cherry tomatoes do wonderful in pots.
Just make sure to water as it gets bigger and the season goes on, the do develop a lot of roots and it will be extra important to keep them wet as they will dry out quicker.

There are patio tomatoes that do good in containers. They stay compact and produce well. So many of the other varieties get too large for containers and spread all over the place. Look for a compact "patio" type plant.
