What are the best vegetables to grow in my area?

I live in the Pacific Northwest and i’m looking for fruits and vegetables I can grow organically in the spring. I’m kind of a beginner.

Unless you are high in Cascades, there are very few veggies you can’t grow. Short day onions, okra, southern peas and sweet potatoes wouldn’t do well, but everything else will do fine. Even smaller, short season melons. Citrus and tropical fruits, no, but apples, pears, cherries and most all the berries love the coastal climate. As the other poster mentioned, get a good book or visit a local nursery for info on what does well in your particular area.

Does anyone know what vegetables grow best in sandy soil?

Most veggies are OK and fruits are probably limited to different berries, rasp. straw etc. maybe apples too, consult a veggie magazine for your area.
