It’s best to have a large variety of them, so get anything that you like. And since you’re trying to lose weight, try to eat mainly fruit and vegetables and lean protein, and only one or two servings of carbs a day.

All fruits and veggies are healthy. Eat them all, and ring the changes.

I grow all my own veggies, and never use on sprays on them. I`m sure they help to keep me healthy.

Pomigranites, any acai drink is good to to help clean you out, apples, grapes, watermelon, etc and a salad with tomates and cucumber maybe with any low fat or fat free dressing is good too to have at least 2 or 3 days a week for lunch or a side with dinner. any fruits and veggies are good to loose the weight. But you don’t wanna eat anything after 7 or 8, three hours before bed, because you won’t be able to burn it during your sleep so it will put on extra fat.

A lot of fruits and vegetables are known as "superfoods". Eating them will not necessarily make you thinner than other fruits will, but they will certainly make you healthier. They include broccolli, blueberries, tomatoes, and apples. A quick google search found this website which lists some of the superfoods. http://www.nutripeople.co.uk/super_healing_foods_index.asp

I am also a vegetarian and eat extremely healthily. Aim for at least 3 types of vegetable in each dish - for example, if I were to cook pasta with tomato sauce I would fry half an onion and half a pepper, boil half a carrot and a few florets of broccoli, and add some tinned sweetcorn and frozen peas. The same when I make a curry. Of course, this crates huge portions, so limit the amount of rice/pasta/potatoes, etc you make. Then I have tinned fruit for pussing and fruit juice with a meal. This way it’s fairly simple to get your 5 portions a day.

Try snacking on dried fruit such as raisins, sultanas and dried apricots. Not only do they count towards your 5 a day but they are full of B vitamins.

Also try making your own soups and smoothies/juices and for a healthy yet tasty sandwich try heating a pitta bread in the microwave, then adding some houmus and salad to it (tinned sweetcorn goes amazingly well with pitta and tortillas.

One of my favourite vegetarian meals is healthy, quick, simple and delicious: lemon pasta. I invented it myself.

Boil the pasta (without adding salt) for approx 10 minutes and stir fry some broccoli and nuts (you can use any nuts but I find that walnuts or pine nuts work best) with a tiny amount of oil (use a pastry brush to spread the oil). Once the pasta is cooked, squeeze the juice of a lemon over it, and sprinkle some black pepper over it. Add the broccoli and nuts, then grate the lemon peel over it.

Curries can be made by adding spices to either tinned tomatoes or cocunt milk (you can buy low fat versions of this) and adding vegetables and either quorn or mixed beans/lentils/pulses.

    Good luck!
